3-week Aikatsu! Memorial Stage screenings include never-before-seen bonus clips
On April 1st, it was announced that certain popular episodes from the Aikatsu! TV series would be compiled into a limited three-week screening run in Japanese theaters starting on June 20th. These screenings will feature exclusive bonus clips that have not been seen before.
In October 2012, the Aikatsu! franchise started with its first arcade card game. This led to a television anime series that ran from 2012 to 2016 and three anime films. In April 2016, the second entry in the franchise, Aikatsu Stars!, premiered on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. An anime film for Aikatsu Stars! was released in August 2016.
In April 2018, the third installment of the Aikatsu! series, called Aikatsu Friends!, was released along with its corresponding arcade game, Aikatsu Friends! Data Carddass. Following this, a sequel television anime titled Aikatsu Friends! ~Kagayaki no Jewel~ (Shining Jewel) was introduced with its own arcade game tie-in. This sequel takes place two years after the events of Aikatsu Friends!, with the main character, Aine Yūki, now attending high school.
In October 2019, the new lead character Raki Kiseki was introduced in the TV series Aikatsu On Parade!, which also featured characters from the previous Aikatsu series.
The Aikatsu! Planet series was launched in Japan on January 10, 2021 and concluded in June of that same year. In July 2022, BN Pictures released their film adaptation of the franchise called Gekijō-ban Aikatsu Planet! This film was shown alongside another movie called Aikatsu! 10th Story ~Mirai e no Starway~ (Starway to the Future) which marked the franchise's tenth anniversary. Another film based on this franchise was released in January 2023.
