Manga launched in August 2020, inspired live-action series in November 2023
On Friday, it was announced that the tenth and final volume of Atsushi Kaneko's manga series, EVOL, will be released as part of its ninth collected edition.
This manga follows the story of three children who are struggling with hopelessness and despair. They try to end their lives but are unable to do so. After they are hospitalized, they discover they have powers that could make them heroes. However, despite feeling like they don't belong in the world, they decide to betray humanity in their ultimate act of despair.
In August 2020, Kadokawa published the manga "Kaneko" in their magazine "Comic Beam". This inspired a live-action series which was released in November 2023.
In 2005, Digital Manga Publishing published two out of six English translations for Cocoa Fujiwara's Bambi and Pink Gun mangas. Later on in 2010, her SOIL manga inspired a live-action TV series. Both SOIL and Wet Moon by Cocoa Fujiwara were previously recognized for Best Crime Comic at France's Angoulême International Comics Festival.
In October 2018, Micro Magazine Publishing Company released the Search and Destroy manga adaptation of Dororo by Osamu Tezuka in their TezuComi magazine. After 18 chapters, the series ended. Later in August 2023, Mangasplaining began serializing the manga in their MSX newsletter. Both Fantagraphics and Mangasplaining Extra published the manga in print form.
