Kagurabachi Manga to Top 2.2 Million Copies in Circulation
Volume 7 ships on May 2
On Monday, it was announced that Kagurabachi manga by Takeru Hokazono has reached over 2.2 million copies in circulation with the release of its seventh volume on May 2nd.
Hokazono debuted the Kagurabachi manga in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023. Viz Media will release volume 3 on May 6. Viz Media 's Shonen Jump and Shueisha 's MANGA Plus are releasing the Kagurabachi manga digitally in English. MANGA Plus describes the story:
Young Chihiro spends his days training under his famous swordsmith father. One day he hopes to become a great sword-maker himself. The goofy father and the serious son--they thought these days would last forever. But suddenly, tragedy strikes. A dark day soaked in blood. Chihiro and his blade now live only for revenge. The manga topped the print category in the Next Manga Awards 2024 in August.
According to Toyo Keizai Online, which is linked to the weekly financial publication Weekly Toyo Keizai, there will be an anime adaptation of the manga at Cygames Pictures. This project is being produced through a joint effort by CyberAgent and Shochiku. When asked about this matter, CyberAgent responded that they cannot provide any information, while Shochiku stated that they will not respond to inquiries regarding specific works.
