Viz Media, Dark Horse, Tokyopop currently publish some Star Wars, Disney books
Disney Publishing has recently entered into new licensing arrangements with Penguin Random House for various types of books based on Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, 20th Century Studios, and National Geographic properties. These books include manga, novels, reference materials, and children's books.
Disney Publishing has granted licenses for manga series to be published by companies such as Viz Media, Dark Horse Comics, and Tokyopop. These companies are known for producing manga titles.
Viz Media titles include Ultraman: Along Came a Spider-Man , Spider-Man: Kizuna , Star Wars: Path of the Lightsaber , Star Wars: Visions : The Manga Anthology , and Star Wars: The Mandalorian: The Manga .
The manga adaptation of George Lucas 's original Star Wars film has been published under the title "The Art of Star Wars: A New Hope - The Manga" by Dark Horse Comics.
Tokyopop currently publishes ( link ) a large library of children's titles based on Disney properties.
At the recent Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 event, Disney Publishing declared that it will continue its adaptation of the live-action series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian, with its fifth volume. Cristian Polizzi will replace Yūsuke Ōsawa as the artist for this new installment, while Francesco Matteuzzi and Jacopo Silvestre will write it.
