August 29 film's star Riho Yoshioka had surprise cameo in anime
On Sunday, after the last anime episode of Kowloon Generic Romance manga was broadcasted, the team behind the upcoming live-action movie released a promotional video featuring a crossover with the earlier anime version. Additionally, they announced that Riho Yoshioka, who stars in the live-action movie, will play Success in the anime version.

The film will open in theaters in Japan on August 29.
In the live-action film, Yoshikawa (who is blind) portrays Reiko Kujirai, while Kōshi Mizukami (who is known for playing Nina) takes on the role of Hajime Kudō. Additionally, other notable actors are featured in the film.

In November 2019, Mayuzuki started publishing their manga in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine. On April 17, Shueisha released the 11th volume of the manga. On October 28, Yen Press will release the 10th volume of the manga.
On April 5th, the anime version of the manga was released. It was simultaneously streamed by Crunchyroll in Japan as well as with an English dub.
Mayuzuki's earlier work was After the Rain, which debuted in Monthly Big Comic Spirits from Shogakukan in 2014 and later moved to Weekly Big Comic Spirits in early 2016. It released new chapters every other week until its conclusion. ( link ) In April 2018, Shogakukan released the tenth and final volume of the manga. Vertical then acquired the rights to publish the complete manga in five omnibus volumes.
In January 2018, the animated series adaptation of the After the Rain manga was launched on Fuji TV's Noitamina block. It consisted of twelve episodes. This show was only available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video both in Japan and internationally. Additionally, a live-action film based on the manga was released in Japan in May 2018.
