Film based on game franchise premieres on May 7, 2027
On Wednesday, it was revealed through Nintendo's Nintendo Today! application and by Shigeru Miyamoto on Twitter that the upcoming live-action film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda franchise will feature Bo Bragason portraying Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth playing Link.
According to recent reports, more than half of the film's production costs are being financed by Nintendo, while Sony is also contributing. Wes Ball has been appointed as the director for the project. Shigeru Miyamoto, who helped create the franchise, will produce it along with other notable individuals such as Avi Arad and Derek Connolly, who wrote Jurassic World. Additionally, Sony will handle the film's distribution.
