Bao the Whale joins cast as Ai Mochizuki
On Monday, Crunchyroll declared that they would start broadcasting the English dubbed version of the second season of the anime adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa 's manga series, Kakkō no Iinazuke, on Tuesday.
The English cast (which features returning members) includes:
- Nicholas Andrew Louie as Nagi Umino
- Lindsay Sheppard as Erika Amano
- Ama Lee as Hiro Segawa
- Bryn Apprill as Sachi Umino
- Bao the Whale as Ai Mochizuki
- Michelle Rojas as Nagi (Young)
Marissa Lenti oversees the English translation of the project, while Amber Lee Connors manages its production. Kieran Flitton handles the script adaptation, Lindsay Roberts takes care of the mixing process, and Paloma Ortiz works on the audio engineering.
The second season of the anime was launched on July 8th in Japan through Tokyo MX, ABEMA, and d Anime Store streaming platforms. Crunchyroll is currently streaming it. Additionally, there was a premiere screening of this anime at Anime Expo which took place on July 3rd.
The anime has a mostly new staff, as well as a new studio.
Masakazu Hishida has been appointed as the new director for Okuru Studio for Noboru, while Kyoko Chika is the new character designer for the series. Jou Aoba, who is actually Masakazu Hishida using a penname, is in charge of overseeing the scripts for the series. Rei Ishizuka is returning as the composer for the music at IMAGINE.

The anime features a returning cast, alongside a new cast member: Hina Yomiya as Ai Mochizuki.
Singing Asmi performs the introductory melody "What You Provided Me" while 22/7 sings the concluding tune for this season titled "It Must Be You" for the new series.
In April 2022, the initial television anime was introduced during the NUMAnimation segment on TV Asahi and its partner stations. This anime continued for two quarters without any interruptions. Crunchyroll made it accessible outside of Japan and also provided an English dub version of the show for streaming.
Hiroaki Akagi was in charge of directing the anime for Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san and Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle while Yoshiyuki Shirahata directed it at Shinei Animation and Synergy SP. Yasuhiro Nakanishi was responsible for overseeing the scripts for Kaguya-sama: Love is War in both seasons and Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun while Aya Takano designed the characters for Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san and Polar Bear's Café.
Kodansha USA Publishing publishes the manga in English, and it describes the romantic comedy:
16-year-old super-studier Nagi Umino, second-year student at the Megurogawa Academy high school, was switched at birth. On his way to a dinner to meet his birth parents, he accidentally meets the brash, outspoken, Erika Amano, who is determined to make Nagi her fake boyfriend as she never wants to actually marry. But once Nagi makes it to dinner, he finds his parents have decided to resolve the hospital switch by conveniently having him marry the daughter his birth parents raised...who turns out to be none other than Erika herself!
