Web Novel, Webtoon Kitchen Solider Gets Live-Action Adaptation
Story follows conscripted soldier who unexpectedly finds his calling in army kitchen
An official announcement has been made that a real-life version of the popular online series Kitchen Soldier will be produced.
The story of "Kitchen Soldier," which was created by JRobin with illustrations by Jin-soo Lee, revolves around a soldier who is conscripted into the army but discovers his true calling in the kitchen. He uses his kitchen knife instead of a rifle and embarks on a journey to become a renowned mess hall chef by completing challenging culinary tasks.
In the upcoming film, actor Ji-hoon Park will portray Seong-jae Kang, a young man from a challenging background who finds out about his hidden talents after joining the military. This character is based on his successful portrayal of the same character in Weak Hero Class 2, a live-action series that was adapted from a webtoon.
Currently neither the web novel nor the webtoon have English releases.
