Manga resumed serialization last month after 1+ year hiatus
On Friday, it was announced by the official Twitter account of Shueisha's Jump SQ magazine that Nobuhiro Watsuki and his wife/collaborator Kaoru Kurosaki's : Hokkaido Arc manga will not have a new chapter in the September issue of Jump SQ magazine, which will be released on August 4th.
The manga is slated to resume in the October issue on September 4.

The manga had been on hiatus ( link ) Since the magazine's June 2024 release, which was in May 2024, there was no appearance of the manga in subsequent issues. Then, in September 2024, the magazine's staff announced that Watsuki was taking a break from continuing the manga due to his poor health.
In September 2017, Watsuki and Kurosaki started publishing their manga series ": Hokkaido Arc" in Shueisha's "Jump SQ" magazine. However, the series was put on hold in December 2017 due to Watsuki being accused of possessing child pornography images. It resumed publication in June 2018.
Since Viz Media was also releasing the manga in English at the same time, they continued doing so until the series took a break in 2017.
In 1994, Watsuki introduced his manga series, Rurouni Kenshin, in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This manga has over 72 million copies in circulation worldwide. It revolves around Kenshin Himura, who was once a ruthless assassin during the Meiji Restoration era, but is now seeking redemption by trying to leave behind violence.
Since its publication as a manga, the series has also been turned into a 95-episode anime television series, an anime movie, three original video anime productions, five live-action films, and even a stage musical performance by the all-female Takarazuka Revue theater group.
In July 2023, the initial season of the anime that follows the primary manga series was launched on Fuji TV's Noitamina block and other platforms. This season lasted for two quarters consecutively. The second quarter began in October 2023. Crunchyroll broadcasted the show as it was released, and it is currently streaming an English dubbed version as well.
The second season of Rurouni Kenshin Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Kyōto Dōran (Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance), known as Crunchyroll's October 3rd premiere, ran for two cours over six months. It was streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired. There will be a third season of this anime.
