Shiori Mikami, Misako Tomioka, Mai Tōdō join cast; Saori Hayami performs ending song




During its presentation at Anime NYC on Thursday, Netflix released an English-subtitled trailer for III, which is the third season of the anime adaptation of Shinya Umemura, Azychika, and Takumi Fukui's Record of Ragnarok (Shūmatsu no Walküre) manga. The trailer showcases additional cast members and previews the anime's ending theme song titled "Last breath, Last record" by Saori Hayami. Hayami wrote the lyrics herself, which align with the anime's perspective.

The new cast members include:

- Shiori Mikami as Alvitr
- Misako Tomioka as Göndul
- Mai Tōdō as Geirölul

The anime will debut on Netflix in December 2025.

Previously announced new cast members include:

- Makoto Furukawa as Nikola Tesla
- Daisuke Namikawa as Beelzebub
- Hiroshi Shirokuma as King Leonidas
- Kenichi Suzumura as Apollo


The upcoming anime series will have a fresh team of creators. Koichi Hatsumi from Tokyo Revengers and Christmas Showdown is directing at Yumeta Company in collaboration with Maru Animation, who previously worked together on the previous season. Yasuyuki Mutō from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway and Tokyo Revengers is writing the story. Yoko Tanabe from Handyman Saitō in Another World and Hisashi Kawashima from Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream are the new character designers. Yasuharu Takanashi is back to compose the music.

The second season of Record of Ragnarok II was released on Netflix in two parts. The first part premiered in January 2023, while the second part (comprising episodes 11-15) was released in July 2023. Meanwhile, the first season of the anime was launched on Netflix in June 2021.

In March 2022, Mangamo announced its license for Record of Ragnarok. Now, Viz Media is making both digital and printed versions of the series available in English.

In November 2017, the manga was introduced in Comic Zenon magazine. Umemura wrote the story while Azychika drew the artwork. Fukui was responsible for storyboarding the work.

There are various adaptations of the original manga such as "Shūmatsu no Walküre Kitan: Jack the Ripper no Jikenbo" (Record of Ragnarok Mystery - The Case Files of Jack the Ripper), "Ryo Fu Hō Sen Hishōden" (The Legend of Lu Bu Fengxiang The Flying General), and "Shūmatsu no Walküre Kinden: Kamigami no Apocalypse" (Record of Ragnarok Forbidden Tale: Apocalypse of the Gods), which were released in June 2024.

On March 31st, a mobile game called "Record of Ragnarok: The Day of Judgment" was released as a role-playing game that involves battles.
