Manga last posted new chapter in December 2024
On September 5th, the 5th and last chapter of Tachibana Higuchi's Champignon no Majo (Champignon Witch) manga was released on Hakusensha's Manga Park app. On September 12th, the first chapter of the 32nd chapter will be published. The last new chapter of the manga was posted on December 27th, 2024. Several bonus illustrations by Higuchi were released between January and February this year. There was no official announcement from Manga Park or Higuchi about the manga going on hiatus.
The magic fantasy manga centers on Luna, a witch who lives in the black forest, and is feared by others. She is called the Champignon Witch because anywhere she walks, talks, and touches ends up growing poisonous mushrooms. The story follows the first love of this woman who has previously not known the warmth of another person.
Higuchi launched the manga on Hakusensha 's Manga Park app ( link ) in October 2019. Hakusensha published the sixth compiled book volume in December 2024.
The manga is getting a TV anime adaptation in January 2026.
In 2013, Higuchi concluded her popular series of comics called Gakuen Alice. Tokyopop released 16 volumes of this manga before they ceased operations in 2011. Additionally, Tokyopop also published four volumes of another series by Higuchi called Portrait of M & N.
In 2004-2005, a TV anime adaptation of Gakuen Alice was created, consisting of 26 episodes. Later on, Right Stuf brought out the DVD version of this series for North American viewers.
