Series debuted in 2019; inspired TV anime in 2023, 2024
Image via Amazon On Thursday, it was announced that Bukimi Miki's SHY manga will have its final battle in the next chapter of Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine, which is published by Akita Publishing. The next chapter will be released on September 18th.
Yen Press is releasing the manga series in English, and it describes the story:
Earth was on the brink of a third World War when super-powered individuals came forth from each country around the globe, ending the conflict and ushering in a new era of relative peace. Among those heroes, Japan is represented by a timid young girl known as “Shy.” She may spend more time worrying about her own shortcomings than she does battling villains, but she'll show the world that despite it all she still has the heart of a hero!
Miki first published ( link ) In January 2017, "Shy" was featured as a one-shot manga in the "Weekly Shōnen Champion" magazine before becoming serialized. ( link ) In August 2019, there was a manga published in the same magazine as another manga that had its 30th compiled book volume released on August 7th. Additionally, the 31st volume of this manga will be released on October 8th, while Yen Press will release the 11th volume of this other manga on October 28th.
In October 2023, an anime adaptation of the series was released in Japan. Crunchyroll broadcasted the anime as it was being shown, and they are currently streaming both the original Japanese version and an English dubbed version of it on their platform.
In July 2024, the second season of the anime was released on TV Tokyo and other networks. Crunchyroll broadcasted it simultaneously as it was being shown on television, and they are currently streaming an English dubbed version of it as well.
