Dokodemo Makibao ~World Tour~ season debuts on Wednesday
On Tuesday, Sukima no Anime declared that Dokodemo Makibao (Everywhere Makibao), their short anime spinoff from the Midori no Makibao franchise, will receive a second season starting from Wednesday, October 8th. A promotional video for the new season of Dokodemo Makibao ~World tour~ has been released, which reveals its new and returning cast and staff.
Makibako from
Midori no Makibao is being portrayed by Ikue Ōtani in the second season of the short anime. She previously played Makibao's younger sister in the 1996 TV series.
Inuko Inuyama,
Shigeru Chiba,
Toshiharu Sakurai, and FROGMAN are also returning from the first season.
The new season of "Frogman" will be directed by
Tsukasa Nishiyama of "
The Human Crazy University" and overseen by
DLE in collaboration with
KDDI.
Naotoshi Nakajima of "Sakigake!! Reiwa no Otoko Juku" and Yuh Ochiai will write the scripts for this season, while Kyōhei Matsuno will return to compose the music.
The anime series "
Dokodemo Makibao" is set to return for its second season on October 8th. Episodes from this new series can be viewed on YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Instagram every Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. JST (6:00 p.m. EDT). In this new season, Makibao and his friends embark on global training missions in order to defeat their arch-nemesis Cascade. This anime series showcases unique races from various countries such as Germany's Beer Carrying race, America's rodeo tournament, and Antarctica's "big battle with aliens".
The Sukima no Anime brand's "second season" included two anime series that premiered in December 2020. Sukima no Anime is a brand that produces net anime shorts. The first series, which was called Alps no Rōjin Heidi no Ojii-san (Heidi's Elderly Grandfather of the Alps), began streaming on December 18th. Meanwhile, the second series, which was called Sukima no Anime's first season, began streaming on December 16th and ended with its 24th episode on March 13th.
In 1994, Tsnumaru introduced
Midori no Makibao as a manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This series ended in 1998. In Japan from 1996-1997,
Midori no Makibao was adapted into an anime series consisting of 61 episodes. In July 2022, a Blu-ray Disc box set was released for this anime, which included a new animated adaptation of the final chapter of the original manga.
