On Thursday, the official site for the movie adaptation of Kazuyoshi Takeda's manga series "Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise" (also known as "Peleliu: Rakuen no Guernica") released a new trailer and visual. This trailer revealed information about the theme song "Kiseki no Yō na Koto" (Something Like a Miracle) by Mone Kamishiraishi that will be featured in the movie.

Image via Amazon In 2016, Takeda started publishing the manga in Young Animal magazine with Masao Hiratsuka providing story cooperation. This popular series ended its run in April 2021 after releasing 11 volumes. It was recognized for its excellence at both the 25th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and the 46th Japan Cartoonist Awards.
The manga takes place ( link ) In the summer of 1944, on the island of Peleliu in Palau, there was a prolonged conflict between Japan and the United States known as the Battle of Peleliu. This manga portrays Tamaru, a soldier who dreams of being a manga artist, as he experiences daily life in this brutal war involving approximately 10,000 Japanese troops and 50,000 American troops. Through this manga, themes such as what motivates soldiers in combat when they are so far away from home on a small island are explored.
In Hakusensha 's Young Animal magazine, there was a spinoff series called "Peleliu Gaiden" which was based on a manga. ( link ) March 2022. The spinoff is slated to end in the fourth volume around July 2025.
