They stumbled upon a website that asked numerous questions and had a point-based system where one could create characters with specific talents and capabilities. The individual became intrigued by this platform and set up their character after completing the process. Upon finishing, they were presented with the option of being transported to a world based on their chosen settings, with no return possible. Without much deliberation, they clicked "Yes," and found themselves in an alternate reality with the skills and abilities they had designed for their character.
