Meakashi-hen and Watanagashi-hen share many similarities as they both involve events from Shion Sonozaki's perspective with slight variations. In this chapter, we learn about the true motive behind the criminals' actions in Watanagashi-hen - their lost love. Unlike other arcs, Satoshi Houjou is physically introduced in Meakashi-hen. This arc also provides the first hints that connect all the arcs together.
