Arata asaoka resides with his contemptible father and elder brother in a household of three men. despite being an illegitimate child, arata is only distantly related to the man who conceived him. he has endured years of mistreatment from his father and brother, feeling compelled to present a facade of happiness for strangers. that all changed when he encountered koharu hinomoto, a woman who brought light into his life. being with koharu filled arata with love and hope, leading him to believe that his life could improve. with the desire to start anew, arata decided to leave his current residence and live with koharu, even without financial resources. in his heart, he knew that he could create a loving family with her, provided he could escape his cruel family first.
