Akira Tachibana was once an active member of the track and field club but had to stop due to an injury. She now works part-time at a family restaurant as a way to make ends meet. While working, she fell in love with her manager, a divorced 45-year-old man with a young son. Despite their age difference, Akira found herself drawn to his kind nature and mannerisms. However, other employees saw this behavior as spinelessness. Although she couldn't explain why exactly she was attracted to him, Akira believed that love didn't need a reason. On a rainy day, she decided to tell her manager how she felt, but she wasn't sure how he would react.

In 2016, Koi wa Ameagari no You ni placed fourth in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! ranking in the male readers category.The series has been licensed in English as After the Rain by Vertical Inc., in Spanish by Ediciones Tomodomo, and in Italian by Star Comics.
