A young man named Huntis Harmillion dreams of becoming a knight for the empire to fight against monsters and demons. He is highly qualified and performs exceptionally well during his enrollment into the knight academy, surpassing the previous record holder's results by a significant margin. Four other individuals also achieve better scores than him, including two who outperform him even more. The top scorer among these five individuals forms Squad 00, also known as the Irregulars. A year later, Huntis finds himself held back and leading a squad of troublemakers called The Worsts, with his motivation to accomplish anything waning.
