The narrative centers around akira kurusu, a 16-year-old student who was relocated from his previous school in tokyo due to false accusations of assault against him. upon arrival at shujin high school, he discovers an app on his phone that allows him entry into another realm inhabited by adults with corrupted hearts. in this world, akira awakens a hidden power known as persona, which he uses alongside his classmates ryuuji sakamoto and ann takamaki, as well as their feline companion morgana, to form the "phantom thieves of heart." their mission is to purge society of corrupt hearts by stealing these hearts from adults.
