Kuraki Kyuuden no Shisha no Ou  

When a young man who was once ill becomes undead named End, he is initially filled with happiness instead of fear because he is no longer weak or confined to his bed. However, his happiness is short-lived when he discovers that his previous life has been replaced by new constraints-specifically, those imposed by his powerful necromancer master who brought him back to life. To achieve true freedom, End must overcome numerous challenges, beginning with defeating his necromancer master.

Kuraki Kyuuden no Shisha no Ou began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou on April 24, 2019, and has been published in print by Kadokawa since November 30, 2019. The series has been published in English as The King of the Dead at the Dark Palace by Yen Press under the Yen On imprint since May 4, 2021.
