Yuta Sasaki has been granted access to the newest VRMMORPG called Law of Justice Online (LJO). As an office worker, he is excited to start his virtual life in this game as a Tamer class which allows him to control wild monsters. To his delight, upon creating his character, Yuta gets his chosen class along with extra bonuses. However, he soon discovers that his abilities are not what he expected them to be. His first monster has gardening skills instead of combat abilities. This puts him behind other adventurers in the game. Yuta now has two options; he can either start over from scratch or make the best out of his current situation by starting a farm with the manure he has been given.

Deokure Tamer no Sono Higurashi began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou on May 21, 2016. Micro Magazine-sha has released a revised and illustrated version of the series since May 30, 2018 under its GC Novels label.The series has been published digitally in English as A Late-Start Tamer's Laid-Back Life by J-Novel Club since October 25, 2021.
