In an alternate world where cats rule Japan after World War II and are part of the Soviet Union, this narrative follows the journey of a blind goze musician named Youme, her skilled swordsman companion Uguisu, and their guide, Buddhist monk Uguisu. They earn their living through street performances and dangerous jobs that utilize their exceptional fighting abilities. As they cross paths with criminals, Cheka enforcers, and orthodox religious groups searching for clues about Uguisu's brother and the enigmatic two-tailed Cheka agent, they engage in swordplay battles.
