A 12-year-old seventh-grader named Chitose Morishige has no friends and is feeling lonely. Her father, Professor Morishige, creates an android companion for her called Ichika Robata to help ease her loneliness. However, Ichika's appearance is so lifelike that Chitose believes she may have run away or been kidnapped by her father. Despite Ichika's repeated attempts to prove that she's a real robot, her efforts are met with hilariously unsuccessful results.
