In the anime "Kiss Me at Dawn," we follow the story of Ikkou Satonaka, a lecherous monk who gains supernatural abilities by indulging in his lust for the women he lives with. He resides at the Saienji Temple as a trainee priest alongside six other nuns: Haruka Amanogawa, Sumi Ikuina, Hinata and Sakura Sugai, Chitose Nanbu, and Yuuko Atouda, each representing one of the bodhisattvas from the traditional Buddhist cosmology. The main love interest is Chitose, with whom Ikkou has a tumultuous relationship characterized by numerous misunderstandings, beatings, and angry outbursts, often leaving Ikkou at a disadvantage.
The series explores themes of Ikkous self-destructive tendencies and the powers of the other nuns as they train to control these abilities. Additionally, their relationships, while mostly platonic, are also portrayed in the anime.
