At Hope's Peak Academy, high school students like Hajime Hinata are considered among the best in their respective fields-be it being a gangster, gymnast, or hamster breeder. However, despite being accepted into this prestigious institution, Hajime is unsure about his own special talent. Along with his classmates, he has been given a surprise summer vacation on Jabberwock Island. Their headmaster, Monokuma, expects them all to complete their assignments in order to return home safely-but with a catch: they must murder one of their fellow students and get away with it during a classroom trial! Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is an alternate version of the events from Danganronpa 2: Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair, told from the perspective of Hajime's archrival in the classroom murder game.
