The narrative of the workplace comedy revolves around Momose, a 26-year-old employee who has recently switched jobs due to harassment from his previous boss. Despite feeling anxious about meeting his new boss Shirasaki, Momose is taken aback by her casual demeanor and finds his anxiety dissipate as she proves to be approachable and easygoing.

Atarashii Joushi wa Do Tennen began as a web comic on the author's Twitter account on May 15, 2018 before official serialization began in Manga Cross on February 5, 2019.The series ranked first in the 2019 Web Manga Sousenkyo, and ranked eighteenth in the 2020 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the female readers category.
