Jins a high school student with special abilities that manifest only once a month. He has a close group of friends, including the skilled and attractive Fusano. However, things take a turn when some men challenge him during one of his unpowered days. It's revealed that they were hired by Jin's brother Soichiro, who wants something from Jin. The situation escalates when Soichiro attacks Fusano, leading to a conflict between the brothers.

Genryuu Butouden: Origin had two volumes published in English as The Battle of Genryu: Origin by CMX Manga from August 18, 2009 to March 2, 2010 before the publisher went defunct.
