At first glance, Hayate Ichikura, Shun Futami, Takayuki Mima, and Souma Shiki do not appear to have much in common besides their good looks and confident demeanors. However, despite their outward composure, they all share one surprising trait-they are quite clumsy! They frequently misplace their belongings, wear their clothing incorrectly, or get lost in unfamiliar places. To maintain their image of sophistication, they must pretend that these mistakes are intentional and keep their composure in public.

Cool Doji Danshi is based on a series of artworks posted on the author's Twitter account since May 11, 2018. The manga started as a web comic posted on the author's pixiv account on February 24, 2019 before being published in book format by Square Enix since June 22, 2019. Chapters are also published on Gangan pixiv after the release of each volume.The series ranked sixteenth in the 2020 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the female readers category. In the same year, the manga placed seventh in pixiv and Nippon Shuppan Hanbai's Web Manga General Election.Cool Doji Danshi has been published in English as Play It Cool, Guys by Yen Press since March 9, 2021.
