In Era 3, after the dissolution of The Dirty Dawg, Dr. Jakurai Jinguji receives an invitation from the Party of Words to participate in the first Division Rap Battles. This competition pits the best rappers from each division against one another for territory, pride, and a substantial monetary reward. For Jakurai, this event presents an opportunity to seek revenge on Ramuda Amemura, a former member of The Dirty Dawg who now despises him. Along with salaryman Doppo Kannozaka and Hifumi Izanami, the number one host in Shinjuku, Jakurai forms Matenrou to compete in the Division Rap Battle. Meanwhile, Ramuda teams up with gambler Dice Arugisawa and author Gentarou Yumeno to create Fling Posse and represent Shibuya in the tournament. As the two groups face off, Ramuda and Jakurai find themselves entangled in a complex situation involving the new government of Japan, which has taken a special interest in Jakurai. The Party of Words will stop at nothing to ensure his cooperation.
