At grace field house, life is good for the orphans despite not having parents. they form a close family with each other and the kind "mama" who takes care of them. no child goes unnoticed, as they are all adopted by age 12. the children undergo rigorous tests daily but get to play outside afterwards. the only rule is not to leave the orphanage. however, two top-scoring orphans, emma and norman, break this rule and discover a shocking truth about their lives. using their intelligence, they must work together to alter their predetermined fate.
As a part of the JUMP START initiative, the first three chapters of Yakusoku no Neverland were published in English as The Promised Neverland in VIZ Medias digital Weekly Shonen Jump on the same day as the Japanese release. After, the series was added to VIZ Medias Weekly Shonen Jump lineup. The publisher has been physically releasing the series since December 5, 2017. The series has also been licensed in Polish by Waneko, and in Spanish by Norma Editorial.
