If the Demon King is no longer alive, then those capable of defeating him have inherited the world. These individuals possess unique abilities that allow them to defeat their opponents with ease. For example, there is a skilled fencer who can determine their opponent's weakness with just one glance. There is also a swift lancer who can break the sound barrier with their speed. Additionally, there is a wyvern rogue who wields three legendary weapons simultaneously. An all-powerful wizard can bring their thoughts into existence with just a thought. Lastly, there is an angelic assassin who can instantly kill their targets. These champions all strive to become known as the "True Hero" by facing challenges against powerful enemies and engaging in conflicts with one another.

Ishura began as a web novel on Kakuyomu on June 30, 2017. The first official volume was published on September 17, 2019 by Kadokawa under the Dengeki no Shinbungei label.The series has been published in English by Yen Press under the Yen On imprint since May 3, 2022.
