On one occasion, a high school freshman named Yuzuru Takasegawa is encouraged by his grandfather to attend a scheduled marriage meeting. Despite his initial reluctance due to his young age, he eventually agrees to go because his grandfather wants to meet his great-grandson before passing away. However, Yuzuru tries to evade the meeting by setting unreasonable conditions. He states that he will only consider the marriage if the girl is blonde-haired, blue-eyed, fair-skinned, and so on. Eventually, he meets the girl who fulfills his conditions, and they reluctantly attend the matchmaking session together. On this particular day, Arisa Yukishiro, a well-known girl at school, also attends the meeting. After hearing her story, it appears that she was also forced to participate in matchmaking. As a result, both Arisa and Yuzuru pretend to be engaged in order to avoid further marriage proposals. However, as they play this role, they begin to develop genuine feelings for each other and eventually become romantically involved.
