The story revolves around two female characters: Kyouko, a 40-year-old accountant who also performs as a belly dancer under the name Sali, and Akari, a 23-year-old temp worker who is looking for marriage. Akami believes that her youth and cuteness are her only assets, so she attends numerous mixers in search of a partner while feeling empty and lonely. After discovering Kyouko's secret life as a belly dancer, Akami begins to appreciate her.

Sexy Tanaka-san was left unfinished after the death of author Hinako Ashihara.
