The story revolves around a Japanese language teacher named Hoshi-sensei who is constantly bombarded with requests from his students and colleagues. His students challenge him to word games, convince him to bring a dog into class, and seek his advice on becoming manga artists. Meanwhile, his colleagues drag him along on their social outings. Despite it all, the interactions between these diverse characters create a humorous tone.
