Saku Fujigaya collapses due to anemia while disembarking from a crowded train and loses her handbag. Upon waking up in an infirmary, she finds her bag and its contents beside her, along with a note with only her benefactor's name and phone number. Despite multiple attempts, she is unable to connect with them. Prior to this event, Saku considered herself insignificant and unnoticed. However, one person took notice of her situation and offered assistance. This act of kindness moves Saku to change her perspective on herself and the world. Despite being mocked as a "goody-two-shoes" by those who merely observe, Saku makes it her mission to help others. She carries this ambition into high school. On her first day, she hears someone calling her name, but realizes they are looking for someone named Sakura, the same name as her mysterious benefactor.
