The narrative centers on Charles Karino, an aerial pilot for the Levamme Empire who operates the Santa Cruz seaplane. On one occasion, he is tasked with flying alone over 12 kilometers of enemy waters to safeguard Fana del Moral, the future ruler of the empire and a woman renowned for her beauty that rivals 5,000 beams of light.
