Hinako Uno, an office worker, feels pressured by her friends and family to fall in love. In order to fit into the image of "an ideal young woman," she puts a lot of effort into her appearance and demeanor. Despite believing that if she could make someone fall in love with her, she would love herself in return, this does not happen. After rejecting another confession, Hinako feels flawed for being unable to love. Meanwhile, Asahi Satou, a senior at work and Hinakos sister's official guardian, pays no attention to matters he deems unnecessary such as love, as he wants to provide for his sister. One night, while crying on a bench, Hinako is approached by Asahi who offers her a bag of doughnuts as consolation. They share a moment of vulnerability and start a relationship that might just be what both women needed.
