Karen Kohiruimaki is an 183-centimeter (6-foot) college student who feels self-conscious about her height and struggles with social interactions. She joins Gun Gale Online using her avatar, Ren, which stands at less than 150 centimeters (5 feet) tall and sports a pink outfit. While playing, she encounters Pitohui, a stunning brown-skinned player, with whom she quickly forms a bond. Later, Pitohui persuades Karen to participate in "Squad Jam," a team battle royale spin on the Bullet of Bullets tournament.
