Mikako has aspirations to become a fashion designer and aims to attend Yazawa Arts alongside her childhood friend Tsutomu. However, as they progress through their time at school, Tsutomu's resemblance to a famous rock star causes him to draw more attention than Mikako would like, particularly from an upperclassman who is popular among the student body. Overwhelmed by her feelings towards Tsutomu, Mikako focuses all of her energy on creating a flea market club with her friends on campus. Despite her efforts, however, she finds herself in closer proximity to Tsutomu than ever before.

Gokinjo Monogatari has been published in English as Neighborhood Story by VIZ Media under the Shojo Beat imprint since December 5, 2023.
