Mayoi Tsukiyono is a 16-year-old student at Oujibaru High School and a member of its Library Committee. When she's around Haru Amagi, someone she likes, Mayomi acts in a clingy way. This behavior isn't intentional but rather stems from her low self-esteem and unattractive appearance, which makes her feel insecure and forces her to put on an act to communicate with the person she admires. Thus begins the tale of a chubby girl who can't seem to stop acting like a little devil character.
