Three years ago, ichika sendawara learned that she had two years left to live. now in her second year of university, she realizes that she has outlived her purpose but continues to cling on due to the uncertainty of her terminal illness. on an ordinary day, ichika encounters akifumi yurugi, her former professor and a reserved individual who resigned from teaching after realizing the emptiness in his life. as he bears the weight of his impending fate, akifumi questions whether there is any hope left for him. meanwhile, ichika seeks a new purpose as she hopes that their unrequited love will be reciprocated before they and their destinies converge.

Tsukanoma no Ichika was adapted into a live-action TV series in 2022.The series has been published in English as A Brief Moment of Ichika by Kodansha USA under the Vertical Comics imprint since April 23, 2024.
