The story revolves around ayano, a fresh recruit in an office setting. despite his competence, he struggles to interact with his superior, oogami, who exudes aloofness. their work together takes them on a field survey at an old mansion. during this trip, ayano experiences something extraordinary that changes his perspective entirely - the ability to perceive "mimitsuki," creatures with animal ears. humans capable of seeing these beings are highly valued, leading ayano to become a target. however, he is rescued by oogami, who turns out to be one of these mythical creatures himself. thus, the tale unfolds between the unapproachable senior with animal ears and the newcomer who can see what others cannot.
