Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is a renowned institution with advanced facilities where almost all students proceed to university or secure employment after graduation. At this school, students are allowed to wear any hairstyle and bring along personal belongings. Despite its idyllic reputation, only the most exceptional pupils receive preferential treatment. The protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, is a student of D-class, which serves as a dumping ground for "inferior" students to be ridiculed. Due to carelessness on his entrance examination, Kiyotaka was placed in this class. However, after meeting Suzune Horikita and Kikyou Kushida, two other D-class students, Kiyotakas situation began to improve.

Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e has been published in English as Classroom of the Elite by Seven Seas Entertainment since March 1, 2022.
