On one occasion, Yamauchi Umi, a junior high school teacher, witnesses a murder being reported in the media. The victim was Suzuki Yumi, a former classmate from junior high school. Several days later, Tamao Yagisawa, Yamauchi's girlfriend and a new editor, discovers a novel with a plot that closely mirrors the murder case. The author is Haruto Saeki. Following the novel's plot, an invitation for a reunion arrives from an old friend.
