Croix, who resides in a remote village and works as a lumberjack, enjoys tranquil days alongside his lovely wife, Wiel, and their only child, Alka. One day, Alka receives an oracle stating that he is the sole individual capable of defeating the Demon King, also known as the "Hero." Along with his fiancé Saya, Alka embarks on a quest to conquer the Demon King. However, three years following the receipt of the prophecy, Saya returns to the village in tatters. She informs Alka that his status as a hero has been called into question, and he is free to act as he pleases without saving the world. As a result, she urges him to strike her with his strongest fist.
