Phoenix, Hi no Tori: Reimei-hen, Phoneix: Dawn, 火の鳥

The statement "All things are born and all things die" is a fundamental truth that applies to everything in existence. According to legend, the Phoenix is an eternal symbol of life, death, and rebirth. It oversees the cycle of reincarnation and the rise and fall of civilizations and species. Those who can obtain its blood will be granted eternal life, while others may receive infinite wisdom or eternal suffering. Throughout history, individuals have been drawn to the Phoenix in multiple reincarnations, with their actions in one life determining or reflecting their sins and sufferings from previous lives.

Hi no Tori was published in English as Phoenix in 11 volumes by VIZ Media under the VIZ Signature imprint from March 12, 2003 to September 18, 2007. Previous to this, it had had a brief run in the educational publication Mangajin, from May to July, 1992 (issues #17 - #19).
