A man named Kitaooji is a salaryman who enjoys reading shoujo manga. He recently became romantically involved with his colleague, Arima, whom he finds incredibly attractive due to her strength, cuteness, and coolness. Despite initially trying to control his feelings and avoid becoming too dependent on Arima, Kitaooji found himself frequently seeking her out at night. However, just as he was beginning to restrain himself, he discovered that Arima had been lying to him and avoiding him.
