Kaito Takagi was a commonplace high school student who spent his days exploring dungeons in Japan, earning money by hunting slimes. He admired his childhood friend from afar while doing so. One day, he encountered a rare golden slime that he had never seen before. After defeating it, he obtained a valuable servant card that could summon mythical beings. With this newfound power, he decided to rise above being just a mob explorer and embark on a modern battle fantasy adventure.

Mob kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyuutan began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou on April 9, 2019, and published in print by Hobby Japan since July 1, 2021.
