In Oracle of Ages, Link starts off in Labrynnas land. He assists Impa in finding a singer named Nayru. However, things take an unexpected turn when Veran, the Shadow Sorceress, exits Impas body and manifests herself. She takes over Nayrus body, who is actually the Oracle of Ages disguised as a human. With Nayrus powers, Veran travels back in time, causing chaos in the present. Her ultimate goal is to gather power from Labrynnas sorrows to begin her Age of Shadows. To save Nayru and put an end to Verans plans, Link enlists the help of Ralph, Nayrus friend, and uses the Harp of Ages to travel between ages. He must collect eight Essences of Time before he can rescue Nayru from Verans control.

Zelda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Kinomi - Jikuu no Shou was published in English as The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, the fifth volume in the The Legend of Zelda series, by VIZ Media under the VIZ Kids imprint on June 2, 2009. It was also included in the 10-volume box set released October 25, 2011. The series was re-released alongside Zelda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Kinomi - Daichi no Shou, as the second volume of VIZ Medias The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition, on January 10, 2017.
